Wilderness Emergency Medicine is an area of emergency medicine practiced in remote and often hazardous environments, with risks to multiple environmental problems and with definitive care usually very delayed and transport to definitive care being difficult to achieve.
Wilderness Emergency Medicine courses offered by us are designed to introduce professional registered health care workers to the knowledge and skills necessary to deal with medical emergencies and survival in the wilderness.
The courses are designed to offer theoretical and practical training to health care workers in the various medical aspects of wilderness medicine, as well as various skills useful in remote environments.
Depending on the course chosen, courses are further designed to provide the candidate with knowledge and skills necessary for wilderness survival, including climbing and wilderness rescue components, and primary health care in remote environments.
Our courses are not only useful to practitioners in wilderness settings, but provide cognitive skills necessary to provide health care in rural resource-limited health care settings.
